About Remedy Drive

There's a passionate honesty to middle America - it's deep-rooted and straightforward. Few places embody that better than Lincoln, Nebraska, home to Word/Warner Bros. newest rock outfit, Remedy Drive. A four-peice, four-brother band (David, Philip, Paul and Dan Zach), Remedy Drive has been cranking out their own brand of music as a full time indie for the past 5 years. The band's debut release, "Daylight Is Coming" was produced by Ian Eskelin (All Star United) and will be nationally available August 26, 2008.

With a message of hope for the searching and a desire to reach beyond a static life for something bigger, Remedy Drive combines a heart-on-a-sleeve sensibilities with their one-of-a-kind live show - the Midwest has never felt like this before!

More Thoughts On Hope

It seems to me that hope is about movement. In the same way that nostalgia is about a backward glance, hope pulls us forward. The power of hope is about change, something better that is in front of us. This movement forward is essential to our well being. If we stop, we stagnate.

A Conversation About Hope

As I sit down to write about hope, I feel a little bit overwhelmed. Hope is one of those intangibles. It's something we can't live without but at the same time we can't quite put our finger on. It's not really a feeling, but it's not entirely a decision or act of will either. It exists somewhere in the middle. Somewhere in the human fiber that is both essential but yet undefinable.

when the flood walls fail

hard times up north. the uncertainty of pending storms and threatening floods. sand bags carried in the cold to hold back the red river. roofs that look like islands. and for me it feels like a metaphor for the condition of my heart. like my namesake puts it:

"...the waters are come in to my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me...mine eyes fail while I wait for my God."
