25 Things about Philip

1. i am often described as 'irresponsible' and 'forgetful'

2. i once got amnesia on the ski slopes to which i credit some of this forgetfulness, but not the irresponsibility

3. it took me 26 and a half years to try sushi and i wish i hadn't waited that long

4. thai food and indian food are easily my favorite meals, but i also love mexican, italian, and japanese. in fact, my favorite restaurant experiences involve people who don't speak English as their first language.

5. i love team sports, but rock climbing is in my opinion the best sport in existence

6. in college i majored in ceramics

7. i quit college to pursue a career in music

8. bass guitar is not my favorite instrument by a long shot

9. i once climbed a fence to jump off the 45 foot tower at a pool in lincoln after hours

10. oftentimes i wish i had been born in a country that doesn't have any computers

11. this past year, i've learned more about myself than i have for the past 5 years

12. i really enjoy making and drinking smoothies. exclusively through a straw and composed mostly of berries, yogurt, and sherbet

13. i think in another life, i would have liked to be a gourmet chef in a crazy nice restaurant in a foreign land.
probably not paris, though, seems a bit predictable

14. i wish i enjoyed driving more, maybe someday i will

15. every couple months, i selectively get rid of a couple boxes of things from my closet and dresser. when i moved into the house i am in now, almost everything i own personally fit into my car. (besides my mattress and i got rid of the bed frame)

16. i highly prefer sleeping on the floor to sleeping on the couch or too soft a mattress

17. one of the best weeks of my life was spent outside in the mountains of CO, most of the nights without even a tent because of the terrific weather

18. i roofed houses for almost five years, waited tables, occasionally did a paper route and sold pottery to pay for all of my classes at the University of Nebraska

19. i used to own a trampoline. i wish i still had it. it was the biggest available trampoline at the time

20. CO, CA, and OR are easily my favorite states. granted, i havn't yet been to NY, so that may change this summer.

21. i really love letting my sheets dry in the wind outside. even though they aren't quite as soft as the dryer, its worth it for how long the scent stays. i would do it to all my clothes but it takes so much work.

22. in the next ten years, i would like to drive a motorcycle across a continent with a really good friend, maybe two

23. i have always been fascinated by line drawing and sketches. I think in part because i wish i was better at it. when studying famous paintings in history, i have always preferred the unfinished sketches and studies done by the artist to prepare for the painting.

24. i have recently re-decided that i don't ever want to be unwilling to do things that i am not certain about or not comfortable with.

25. my parents are some of the best people i've ever known. i really hope to be like my father someday.
